Ouachita Baptist Student Village

In an effort to revitalize Ouachita Baptist University’s north side of campus, two newer higher-end residence halls were planned to promote a more friendly, community atmosphere. VCC constructed the five pod and seven pod buildings, totaling 184 units. The new construction wraps around an outside centralized gathering space that is located within the curvature of the overall buildings’ site design.
Each apartment has two to four bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms and a kitchenette along with community-shared fitness rooms, laundry facilities, game and study rooms. At a time when Arkadelphia had more rain on record than any other year’s construction season, the residence halls opened four months ahead of schedule so that students could occupy them by the fall rather than during winter.
