VCC was recently honored by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas with a 2023 Excellence in Construction Eagle Award. This first place award was conferred in the healthcare category for completed projects in the $20M – $50M range.

“ABC congratulates VCC Construction for their outstanding work on The Blake at Chenal Valley,” said Bill Roachell, ABC Arkansas President.

The Blake at Chenal Valley is a beautifully designed senior living community. 41 independent living cottages encircle a 24-hour recreation center. The 2-story, 101 bed assisted living building provides care for seniors who need more attention. This facility also provides memory care.

Competing this project called on all the best aspects of VCC’s processes and practices

The project was deeply impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the early days of the pandemic, uncertainty about staffing and labor safety affected the scheduling. Over time, material availability and delivery placed hurdles on the way to completion. Working with the owners, Cardinal Ventures, VCC clearly communicated the issues and challenges facing the project and proactively managed the schedule to address the obstacles posed by materials and labor. We also enjoyed our collaboration with Young Wier + Boemer PLLC architectural firm.

VCC was also presented the STEP Platinum award in recognition of the company achievement and our ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program for 2022.

Project manager Colt Easley and Sr. Project Manager Danny McGill were on hand to receive the awards on behalf of VCC at the Excellence in Construction celebration on April 28, 2023 in Hot Springs, AR.
