First Orion Topping Out

We've reached the top! This past Friday we celebrated the topping out at our project First Orion. This is a 70,000 square foot five-story mixed-use building with the first level being over 16,000 square feet of common area, retail, and restaurant space. Floors 1-4 are planned to be 46,000 square feet of office space with the fifth floor to be 7,000 square feet of partially enclosed and partially roof patio space. Located in the Argenta Historic District in downtown North Little Rock, we have coordinated with the city, as well as other GC's, to work together as this area of the city grows.

The mayor of North Little Rock, Taggart Architects, and First Orion staff joined VCC on this exciting day.

Grandscape Progress Update

There is a lot going on at Grandscape Texas, our nearly 4M square foot mixed-use development for Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony, TX! Currently we are working on the facades of the Galaxy Theater and Andretti Indoor Karting, along with the retail shops and waterfront restaurants are going up. Also underway are the parking infrastructures, water features, hardscapes and softscapes. Very soon we will break ground on Live Grandscape, a 345-unit luxury apartment tower. Stay tuned for more updates!

Reimagine Redbird Groundbreaking

The VCC/Con-Real team has broken ground on the 1 million square foot redevelopment of RedBird Mall mixed use project... now called Reimagine RedBird! Our team is excited to bring revitalization to an area that was once a thriving part of South Dallas. This redevelopment ultimately plans to include new shops, office, hotel, multi-family along with a complete mall renovation. Reimagine Redbird will also encourage walkability with a one acre lawn for community gatherings.

The Brennity at Melbourne Topping Out

The Brennity at Melbourne, our project for Sagora Senior Living and TCG Development, has reached the top! To celebrate this achievement we had a Topping Out Party with the jobsite team. Sonny's BBQ catered the event for the forty people in attendance. The Brennity at Melbourne, located near the Southeast Florida coast, is a premiere senior living center in a exquisite location. We are currently adding a 38 unit independent living addition to the existing assisted living facility. The building is three stories and approximately 300,000 sf. We will also be constructing a new 7,000 sf community clubhouse for the existing cottages that will include a dog park and exercise park.

Welcome to Atlanta – Madison Yards Update

Atlanta is the home to many landmarks such as the Coca-Cola museum, Centennial Park, Martin Luther King, Jr Historical Park, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of MLS Cup winning Atlanta United and where Super Bowl LIII will take place on Sunday! Just 3 miles from the stadium is one of our expansive projects, Madison Yards. This 17 acre redevelopment of a former Leggett & Platt site is in the Reynoldstown area of Atlanta, near the Atlanta Beltline. Once complete, it will contain 156,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space. It is anchored by a Publix and AMC Theatres, health club, office space, and more!

Metropark Square in Shenandoah, TX in Underway!

We have a project update on our work on Sam Moon Group's MetroPark Square! This 69-acre mixed-use development is located in the Shenandoah area (a suburb of Houston). By the beginning of March we will have completed the first movie theater in Shenandoah, a 10-screen 41,000 sq ft AMC Theatre with IMAX, and phase 1 of the retail and entertainment space. Look out for the grand opening on our social media channels. We next emptied the water out of a pond, filled it with soil, and we are currently grading it for the next part of development. This will be a 40,000 sq ft Dave & Buster's and parking garage, which is slated to open late 2019. The development will feature 175,000 sq ft of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space along with a central green space. One of our biggest challenges on this project thus far is Mother Nature. We have had many rain delays, yet we are scheduled to open the first phase early!

First Orion Groundbreaking Event

Get your shovels ready! Yesterday was the groundbreaking ceremony for the First Orion of Little Rock's office building. When our team completes the project, it will stand at six-stories and serve as the global headquarters for First Orion. Located in the Argenta Historic District, the building will be 80,000 square feet, which includes 16,035 square feet of common area, retail, and restaurant space. There will be roof space designated for social gatherings. We are working with Taggart Foster Currence Gray Architects on this project.

Ingram Park Mall Renovations

This year our team completed an extensive 116,000 sq. ft. renovation of Simon Property's Ingram Park Mall. We renovated the common area with new flooring, handrails, lighting, and paint, while also creating a more open concept they envisioned for new leasing opportunities. As part of the interior renovation, we built a 2,500 square foot mall concourse that allows for better access into the food court from one of the main entries. This required complicated relocation of power and data being used by current tenants as well as relocation of numerous other existing utilities.
