Derek Alley Transitions to VCC CEO.
We are excited to announce the transition of Derek Alley to Chief Executive Officer of VCC! He succeeds our Co-Founder and his father, Sam Alley, who will continue to have an active role at VCC as Chairman and focused on strategic initiatives. This transition is a culmination of a multi-year succession plan.
Sam co-founded VCC in 1987 in Little Rock, Arkansas and since then we have built a name and reputation as one of the top contracting firms in the nation. Sam’s leadership has been invaluable in producing not only quality projects, but also a talented team; he has maintained that with our success, we also give back to various charities and organizations across the country. His influence within our industry is unparalleled. We are grateful Sam and to the entire team at VCC who has contributed to our continued growth and success.
Derek earned his BS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and brings experience in all aspects of the construction industry to his new role as CEO. Prior to joining Team VCC in 2008, Derek was in the finance and acquisitions industry in California, including at Deutsche Bank. In his latest role at VCC as Managing Director, Derek was involved in company operations, project management, relationship management, contract negotiations, and financial analysis with focuses also in business development and marketing. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, ICSC, ULI, Texas Real Estate Council (TREC), and sits on the Board of Directors for the Variety Charity of Texas. Derek is a husband, and father of two.
